Our Newport Beach Day Camp is hosted at the Back Bay Science Center on Shellmaker Island. This amazing refuge is located on the Back Bay just off of Jamboree. The all new facility is equipped with large aquariums, a Wet Lab, and microscope observation lab. We are securely gated from the public, allowing a truly safe environment. Amenities include: bird watch trails, mud flats, and an Osprey nest. |

- Supreme Sea Stars Grades K-1
- Daring Dolphins Grades 2-4

| GUARD START - JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM! |
Guard Start covers these five critical areas:
-
Prevention: Teaches how to prevent drowning and diving accidents.
-
Fitness: Develops swimming skills and general physical ability for lifeguarding responsibilities.
-
Response: Develops an understanding of the basics of emergency response techniques and provides practice of lifeguarding skills.
-
Leadership: Teaches the decision-making and communication skills necessary to succeed as a lifeguard.
-
Professionalism: Instructs participants in key skills and attitudes for the important and vital job of lifeguarding.
Summer 2010!
This American Red Cross Program is available to youths ages 11 - 15 years old who have the desire to learn about the responsibilities and duties of a lifeguard. Guard Start is NOT a lifeguard training class. This class is designed to teach students basic rescue skills, first aid, CPR, and water safety. Upon completion students will have certifications in Community CPR, Community First Aid, and Basic Water Rescue.
We will be offering our Guard Start Program the following weeks:

| Accomodations, Food, and Other Information |
- The facility has all new restrooms and rinse areas available for campers
- Campers are to bring their own sack lunch each day with a snack
- Counselor / camper ratio is 1 to 9 or better.
- All staff is lifeguard/ first aid/ CPR certified and will be present to teach and monitor campers.
